1 oz Gin
1 oz Sweet Vermouth
1 oz Malört
⅛ oz Absinthe

This is a Chicago twist to one of my favorite drinks—the classic Negroni, using three different ingredients that traditionally contained wormwood—vermouth, absinthe, and the infamous Malört. I came up with this one after reading an article in the Chicago Tribune that had three drink recipes featuring the bitter, bitter spirit, including one called “Three Worms” that used Malört, dry vermouth and absinthe. I tried ’em all and knew I could do better, especially as most of the drinks tried to cover Malört‘s extreme bitter, and I wanted one that celebrated bitter. Now, I actually prefer the Chigroni to the Negroni.

Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice and add all the ingredients. Stir (never shake), and strain into a cocktail glass.
