There’s a new program on the DIY Network called Tech Out My Home. They show home projects of a semi-geeky nature, heavy on electronics and network connectivity. Last night, they did a bathroom that included what may be the ultimate toilet. I wanted Mary to see it, as we plan on redoing our master bathroom in the next two years or so.
She did not like what she saw, exclaiming that products like that were part of the reason the world hates us. I explained that it was Japanese, not American, and had been on the market in Japan for several years. I didn’t sway her. Oh well, I’ve got a couple of years to work on her.
Dobry had a Cub Scout meeting last night and neither Mary nor I felt like cooking. So Mary said, “Do we need a formal meal?”
I thought about it briefly and said no. Mary made some noodles for Dobry, and I made a venison sandwich for myself. A neighbor brought me some lean, nicely peppery, cured venison sausage— think cotto salami, but not greasy or fatty, and much, much tastier. I sliced some of the nearly-purple sausage and put it on some plain bread— no condiments needed.
