Smart Here?

We saw a Smart yesterday about a mile from our house. It had Illinois plates. I’m wondering if it was a Canadian import, or if it’s a test for Smart USA’s launch.

Mary and I plan on buying one as a low cost commuter car. For the vast majority of our car trips, there’s only two of us; it’s only the occasional weekend errand or trip where all three of us are in a vehicle.
